BAR: Bar Termini
Once again, I am well behind on updating the blog with my most recent restaurant and bar visits. This one occurred on a Friday in the middle of March, when I was in the Soho area of London anyway and decided to wait for a space to open up at the small Bar Termini, which sits opposite one of the best bars in London, Swift.
Bar Termini is an Italian cocktail bar, where small plates sit alongside classic cocktails. I went first for their take on a Bloody Mary, consisting of horseradish vodka, tomato juice, pepper distillate, bay marsala, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. The horseradish vodka was a nice way of introducing spice to the drink, but one sip was really enough. Not a very subtle drink, and not the best Bloody Mary I've tried.
I then had the Marsala Martini (pictured top), consisting of dry vermouth, marsala dolce, almond bitters, and beefeater gin. The most memorable aspect of the drink was the pickled almond, which was a nice sweet end to a typically sharp, dry martini.
I can't really say that Bar Termini is worth the visit when Swift is just next door. There, you'll have well thought out cocktails that you'll want to return to. I didn't get that with Bar Termini.
