Master Wei's

Now and again, the nood craving hits. I've lived in Hammersmith for almost three years, and until this past weekend, did not have a go-to noodle place. Outrageous. Thankfully, with the help of the good food guide, I located Master Wei's which is just down the road, next to the tube station. I don't know how long it will be here, because it was pretty dead on a Sunday and there isn't much foot traffic where it is (being on very much the wrong side of the station), but I will enjoy it while I can.

I had two dishes: the crispy fried pork, which was ever so moreish, and the Biang Biang noodles with beef and Pak Choi, pictured above. The noodles were toothsome, the oily marinade (I don't know if one can really call it a sauce) evoking Italy with it's simplicity but very much a Chinese dish. But it was the beef that really stood out: lightly seasoned but absolutely melt-in-the-mouth.

At just over £20 for two dishes and a drink, what's not to enjoy? I will be back for the noodle soup!

Value for money? As above, definitely.

Would I return? Sure thing. I'm so glad this and Adela's Carinderia (a Filipino cafe that I want to return to asap) are close by!
