Burger Round-Up: Patty & Bun, Senseless Heat, Bleecker Burger

The first burger Round-Up, where I go over some of the burger places in London I've visited, and see if any are burgers that are worth a special visit.

To start with, Patty & Bun. I visited them at the beginning of April in Notting Hill, and had their fried chicken burger. The chicken was crispy, the brioche bun decent enough, but it didn't really hit the mark for a truly good burger. Smash or pass? Pass.

Next up, Senseless Heart, who sell their fried chicken "sandos" (utter nonsense; they're burgers) at the Understudy within the National Theatre building on the Southbank. They sell three different chicken burgers, and I went for the Nashville chicken with slaw and house sauce. This was the one. Unbelievably crispy skin, succulent meat - a real winner. Smash or pass? Smash.

And finally, at least for this round, Bleecker Burger in Westfield shopping centre. Bleecker are renowned for their beef patties, but as I don't eat beef I went for their veggie burger that uses a Symplicity patty. For £10, this is a joke of a burger. A seeded bun, a patty (which doesn't hold a candle to Beyond Meat), lettuce, onions and house sauce. As basic as it comes. Smash or pass? Pass.

Senseless Heat is the clear winner here, but the hunt continues for the great burgers that London has to offer.
