CoCo Ichibanya Curry House

This one might be short and sweet, but that does not mean my acclaim is any less so. CoCo Ichibanya, a curry house in Soho, might just offer the best Japanese curry in London. There you have it.

My first time going, I had the Omurice (omelette with rice) with chicken Katsu curry, iced tea, and ice cream, all for £20 including service.

The Katsu curry comes in a range of spiciness options, but I went for the standard (as traditionally a Katsu curry is not supposed to be spicy). My one gripe is that the curry didn't come with carrots, onions, or potato, as is also traditional, but despite this it was exactly like a Katsu curry should be: tangy and sweet.

This will definitely not be my last visit to CoCo Ichibanya, as I love Japanese curry and this is simply the best I've had in London.

Value for money? £21 for all of the above, though next time I will just get the curry for £15. Still a little expensive for a curry, but it is the best around.

Would I return? Definitely!
