Rosa's Thai Cafe

Well colour me disappointed. The first time I visited Rosa's Thai Cafe, I was a masters student living off about 20 quid a week in Bayswater. Rosa's Thai Cafe came in clutch, and I remember having a great little meal of summer rolls and Thai red curry with rice, all within budget.

So, given that, I was pretty happy to visit Rosa's Thai Cafe again - given that a new branch had recently opened up a little closer to home, in Westfield. However, all did not go to plan this time around.

For starters, the food took an inordinately long amount of time to come out, especially given that Thai food is cooked quickly over a high heat. It seemed that the kitchen was pretty backed up, and the priority was on fulfilling takeout orders. When our food did come, it came in stages with long wait times between. I had the papaya salad as a side to go with my drunken noodles. The papaya salad was refreshing but didn't feel overly fresh, and there was an awful lot of liquid sitting at the bottom of the plate. The drunken noodles were good but - again - could have been spicier.

Though this wasn't an expensive food outing, it also wasn't worth the time or the money. Sadly, this has coloured my judgement of Rosa's Thai Cafe for the worse, and I doubt I'll be returning, at least to this branch.

Value for money? Around £35 per person. It wasn't very costly, but the food just wasn't good. So no.

Would I return? That's a negative.
