Lucky Chip and others

This is not a picture of a Lucky Chip burger. This is a picture of Honest Burger's monthly special, the Truffle burger. And while it wasn't the best Honest burger I've had, it was still better than most burgers being offered in London.

This is a lucky chip burger - the Blue Steel, with blue cheese and a slightly spicy mayo. Doesn't look much and, to be quite honest, didn't knock my socks off. A bog standard burger that I'd put on the same level as a Five Guys. The triple did somewhat better, as this was a thick burger stacked with three meat patties, with chopped onions, American cheese and mayo and ketchup. The chopped onions could have been diced more finely (and I think grilling them would definitely elevate this burger), but overall a pretty tasty burger. Still, on the basis of these two, Lucky Chip is not going into the upper echelons.

And as an aside from burgers, I also recently tried Pizza Pilgrims' monthly special, the Lasagne pizza. This is an interesting pizza, and I enjoy the concept behind it. While tasty, I was not overly keen on the fried pieces of pasta on top, and the crust had some quite criminal blackened spots (as can be clearly seen). This was at the Queensway branch, so I don't know whether their QA isn't quite up to par with other branches. A decent pizza, but one I wouldn't try again if it came back.
